The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) has partnered with Everblue, an innovative educational technology firm, to administer and proctor virtual exams as part of its semi-annual promotion process.
Created by the U.S. Congress in 1970, NCUA is an independent federal agency that insures deposits at federally insured credit unions, protects the members who own credit unions, and charters and regulates federal credit unions.
NCUA routinely seeks talented and dedicated employees who are committed to the highest standards. They count on their employees’ experience, judgment, insight, background, education, integrity, and training to accomplish their mission of safety and soundness.
In early 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic forced organizations to change their processes and lead with a virtual approach, NCUA had already determined that online employee competency testing was the most efficient, convenient, and affordable method for verifying employee skills. The organization awarded a contract to Everblue to deliver the testing content and report scores back to NCUA.
Everblue was founded in 2008 by military veterans, with the goal of educating Americans on emerging technology fields, such as sustainability and renewable energy. Over the last decade, Everblue has expanded its services beyond offering training courses; the company uses its background in educational technology, innovative thinking, and software development to digitize exam content and automate the testing experience. It now works with several state and federal government agencies to administer, proctor, and score their certification/licensure exams and employee competency tests.
“Everblue’s online testing portal is the perfect choice for virtual hiring and promotion exams because it’s secure, reliable, and efficient,” said Chris Boggiano, president of Everblue. “In addition to hosting and delivering the exam content in a locked down browser, we provide identity verification services to ensure that the right person is taking the test and online exam proctoring to provide security throughout the duration of every test session.”
Everblue’s latest round of promotion exams administered on behalf of NCUA will close out on July 14. All scores will be sent to NCUA, who will use the results as input as part of the promotion process for each employee.
